Steelman Presents to INCRE, Early Career Librarians Group

Susan Steelman, MLIS, AHIP, professor and head of Education & Research Services in the UAMS Library, was an invited speaker recently for the SCC Early Career Librarians Initiative and NNLM Region 3 in July. She delivered the virtual presentation “Creating a Road Map for Career Success: Applying for Tenure, Promotion, or AHIP,” which she co-authored with Rachel Helbing, Ed.D., AHIP of the University of Houston. Steelman also delivered “Good Publishing Practices for Arkansas INBRE Researchers” to Arkansas INBRE.

Library Staff Members Receive Advanced Credentials

Susan Steelman, MLIS, AHIP, professor and head of Education & Research Services in the UAMS Library, renewed credentialing through the Medical Library Association’s Academy of Health Information Professionals attaining the organization’s highest level of credential — Distinguished. Kay Strahan, MSLIS, AHIP, also renewed her AHIP certification, attaining the Senior level.

Harmon Joins Faculty Center

Kariba Harmon recently joined the Center for Faculty Excellence as the executive assistant.

She comes to UAMS from TWG Impressions, where she worked as an administrative assistant. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2022 from the University of Arkansas Little Rock.
