The Office of the Provost
Dr. Stephanie Gardner is the Provost and Chief Strategy Officer of UAMS.
As provost, she is the institution’s chief academic officer, providing leadership and coordinating resources in partnership with the Deans and other campus officials in support of the UAMS education mission that includes the five colleges (Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Professions, and Public Health) and graduate school, 56 degree and certificate programs, 3,485 students, 915 resident physicians and fellows, and seven dental residents.
As Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, she leads the Division of Academic Affairs, overseeing departments and programs that promote academic success and enrich the campus’ intellectual community, including the Arkansas Commission on Child Abuse, Rape and Domestic Violence, Educational and Academic Success Center, Center for Faculty Excellence, Center for Health Literacy, Centers for Simulation Education, the Culinary Medicine program, Department of Campus Life and Student Support Services, Department of Institutional Research, Policy, and Accreditation, the Library, Office of Academic Services, Office of Continuing Education, Office of Interprofessional Education, and the Office of the University Registrar.
As Chief Strategy Officer, Dr. Gardner leads the Office of Strategy Management in its efforts to implement and to monitor progress on UAMS’ 10-year strategic plan, Vision 2029, as well as other strategic initiatives.
