Visitor Policy

Visitor Policy (as of June 2, 2021)

(This does not apply to hospital/clinic patient visitors or clinical care locations. This is for visits only. Additional policies such as job shadowing and academic visitor remain in place and are available in Compliance 360.)

To maintain infection precautions, UAMS has a visitation policy in place. Visitors must enter through the screening station at Parking Level 2B.  They are required to have an appointment, pass the health screening, and wear a Guest Tracking System (GTS) badge. Visitors are allowed from 7 am-5 pm only. Please note: There is no formal process for setting up appointments. Visitors must have a meeting/appointment scheduled with a UAMS employee who will meet them at the screening station as described below.

Visitors must be escorted by a UAMS employee at all times. This begins with meeting them at the screening station. A photo ID is required to get a GTS visitor badge. Visitors must exit through a GTS screening station and return their visitor badge when they leave.

For approved visits, please ensure the visitor receives instructions regarding:

  • Where to arrive and park (Parking 2)
  • Where to enter the building (Parking 2B – take the elevator or stairs down one floor to this entrance)
  • Required COVID-19 health screening questions below and acknowledgement that if any questions are positive or if the visitor has temperature of greater than 100.4, they will not be able to enter.

The COVID-19 screening questions may include (this is subject to change):

  1. Have you traveled outside Arkansas in the last 14 days?
  2. In the last 14 days, have you been in direct contact with someone who is confirmed to have COVID-19?
  3. Have you been advised to self-quarantine in the last 14 days?
  4. Do you have a new onset cough?
  5. Do you have a sore throat?
  6. Do you have shortness of breath?
  7. Have you had a fever greater than 100.4 degrees in the last 24 hours?
  8. Have you had chills in the last 24 hours?
  9. Do you have new onset muscle ache, not explained by exercise or activity?
  10. Do you have loss of taste or smell?
  11. Have you been tested for COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
