Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds

CARES Act

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was passed by Congress and signed into law to provide economic relief from COVID-19. One section of the CARES Act established the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF). UAMS was allocated $486,488 in HEERF institutional relief funding. UAMS signed and returned the Institutional Relief Certification and Agreement required by the Department of Education on April 30, 2020, and agrees to abide by all requirements regarding appropriate usage of funds.

Student Portion

An additional $486,488 was allocated for students. The final report outlining how the student funds were spent can be found here.

CRRSAA

The Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplementary Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) was signed into law on December 27, 2020. UAMS was allocated $971,725 for institutional needs. The quarterly reports on how these funds are spent are below.

ARP

The American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act was signed into law on March 11, 2021. UAMS was allocated $1,179,035 for institutional needs and $1,253,545 for students. The institutional funds are included in the quarterly reports below.
