The UAMS Educational and Student Success Center (ESSC) hosted its 2nd Annual ESSC Open House in September to showcase its resources available to students and faculty at the start of the new semester.

The ESSC faculty and staff members worked diligently to produce this outreach and de-stress event. The ESSC hallway area and all event rooms were decorated in a fall theme. Snacks and giveaway items were available for students. All the ESSC faculty and staff members either staffed information tables or opened their offices to meet and greet students and other faculty members or to introduce ESSC services (such as coaching, tutoring and the Writing Center) and resources (such as tech support, learning support and writing support).

The students enjoyed a visit from the therapy dogs, the Relaxation Room with foot massage, the coloring art poster and other activities.

The UAMS Library, ADA/Title IX office, and the newly merged eLearning group joined the ESSC to introduce their services to the students. A Student Life staff member came to teach students to build their own stress balls. Students from all the colleges participated in and enjoyed the event.
