Complaint Resolution Process Information
Complaint Resolution Process Information for Prospective and Current Students
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences seeks to resolve student complaints in a fair and expeditious manner. Policies and procedures are available to all students enrolled at UAMS, including those participating in distance or correspondence education.
The first step for resolving a complaint is to contact the Dean’s office of the student’s respective college. The Dean or Associate Dean will guide each student regarding complaints about a course, an academic issue, or allegations or unfair treatment or discrimination.
If the issue is not resolved after contacting the Dean’s Office, students are always welcome to contact the Provost, Dr. Stephanie Gardner, PharmD, EdD. at (501) 686-5689.
If a complaint cannot be resolved through internal processes, a student may file a complaint with the Arkansas Department of Higher Education at (501) 371-2031, or by contacting the state agency where the student resides. A complete list of state agencies is available below.
Students may also contact the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, which is the University’s regional accrediting body.
