Academic Program Review
Arkansas Code §6-61-214 requires the Arkansas Department of Higher Education (ADHE) Coordinating Board to review all Arkansas academic programs every 7-10 years.
Accredited/licensed/state certified UAMS programs will follow the review process and schedule set forth by the accrediting/licensing body. The site team’s written evaluation and the institutional response will be sent to ADHE within six weeks of receipt.
For programs that do not have program or college level accreditation, external reviewers/consultants will be used to review the program. A minimum of two out-of-state reviewers associated with similar programs will be selected by UAMS. This review will include a site visit by at least one consultant and a comprehensive self-study. The consultants’ evaluation and the institutional response will be sent to ADHE within six weeks of receipt. Self-study guidelines can be found here.
UAMS programs are also reviewed internally with College officials and the Office of the Provost every 2 years.
